The founder of Proper Nutrition, Inc., Dr. Snyder had considerable background in the field of fish and other animal protein concentrates. He initiated, gained support for, and later directed the extensive U.S. Government program of conversion of fish into a concentrate suitable for supplementing deficient diets the world over. He also oversaw worldwide research efforts in this area in the 60's under the aegis of the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences. As a nutritionist, Dr. Snyder represented the Dept. of the Interior on the Interdepartmental Committee on Nutrition and in the Office of Technical Assessment of the White House. In addition, he had considerable marketing and business development experience gained as a private consultant to the U.S. food industry and the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. He also served as a medical officer for the World Health Organization (WHO) of the United Nations. In 1988, Dr. Snyder and several colleagues established Bio-Proteus Corporation, which is an entity that holds the patent-pending technology permitting the pre-digestion of proteinaceous material into peptides and amino acids. He also assisted in the development of technologies related to biological waste management through recycling. He passed away in 2002. Today, the company continues under the ownership of Leonard C. Giunta, D.O., a director under Dr. Snyder. Proper Nutrition, Inc. continues to ad new all-natural products such as a new, soon-to-be-released natural diet supplement.
